Communications infrastructure, computer, and other enabling technologies lay the foundation of the market. Following are the related research areas:

Consumer behavior in the online market draws lots research attention in the research areas of online marketing and decision-making support developers. By applying business theories in the physical markets, the online market represents different challenges and, also, opportunities for business and researchers.

Wireless Networking and Mobile Commerce

The wireless data industry is leading the transformation into anywhere, anytime economy through ever-present networking, interactive content delivery, and m-commerce. Its growth and economic viability depend on applications and solutions that can extend the usability and the market for wireless content and services.

E-Business Value Assessment

As e-business tools and models proliferate, investments in technology must translate into financial and operational successes.

Online Auctions and Smart E-Marketplaces

Among market innovations enabled by the Internet, online auctions and electronic marketplaces are the fastest growing applications in both business-to-consumer and business-to-business segments. However, technologies that offer new opportunities also introduce possibilities for fraud and misbehaviors by sellers, buyers or the intermediaries.

Future perfectives
The department continuously enhances its teaching and research resources in order to motivate students from the surrounding region who can get access to required educational-facilities. Beyond the role of delivering higher quality education for the subject of management of information systems, the department also seeks opportunities to help the developments of the information-related industry in southern Taiwan in a sense to assist local business in facing the challenges of latest technologies. In the future, the department plans to provide an adult-educational program for training future business executives.
