Developing harmonious relations between faculty members and students has been a priority of our graduate school since its establishment. All faculty members of the graduate school are enthusiastic and care about students. Our faculty members and students enjoy cordial relations in class by getting along as teachers and students as well as friends. One could hear the sound of eloquent discussion during class as well as candid laughter from students. We are proud to mention the ratio between faculty members and students is 1:3, and our faculty members play the role as teachers both in life and knowledge. Our graduate school has always been seeking the objective that students respect faculty members, while faculty members take care of students.

The Graduate Institute of Public Policy is one of the leading political science communities in Taiwan. Our faculty members represent a broad spectrum of backgrounds, methodologies and approaches. We have strength in teaching and research not only in the fields of public policy, but also in the areas of public administration, and political economy.

The Graduate Institute of Public Policy is virtually still at its young age--- young, potential, vibrant and prospective. The Institute started its master’s program in 2010. The Institute has been highly admired for its superb environment as well. Our students can not only enjoy the scenic campus of National Chiayi University, but also get access to well-equipped research facilities.

The main framework of the courses is built on the principal theories of public administration and policy-making, seeking to identify the approaches to improve the functions of public sectors in Taiwan. It focuses on assessing the political and fiscal relations between the central and local governments (in particular local governments in South Taiwan); examining governmental organizations and personnel management; and studying cases of public policies and administration. This program also sets discussions on industrial policies in the context of economic and industrial development in Taiwan and arranges practice training in the public sector to equip students with best skills and knowledge which are essential for their future career.
