Mission

The major objective of the BA program is to cultivate educators in the domain of teaching in the physical education field and professional training in the field of sport management and leisure service for the sporting industry.

The goal of this department is to educate capable Physical Education (PE) instructors, coaches, and sports administrators. Students are expected to acquire knowledge-based competence and skill-related abilities in sports-related fields.

Curriculum

The BA program requires students to complete 128 credits. The BA program consists of general education courses (30 credits), common curriculum courses, foundation courses, core curriculum courses, specialty courses and optional coursed.

The course structure is divided into three major coursed:

(1) Program of Fitness Instruction for Elderly and Health Care.

(2) Program of Sport, Recreation & Management.

(3) Program of Sport Science and Training

Faculty

Five full professors, eight associate professors, four assistant professors, and two lecturers. Among them, there are ten PhDs, one PhDs candidates, eight MAs.

Career Development

Graduates are prepared for professions as elementary PE teachers, sport and exercise trainers, coaches and consultants, sports administrators, and sport business owners or employees. They can also do graduate work in the fields of recreation, PE, coaching, and sports administration.
