Establishment of postgraduate (PhD) courses in Computer Science and Information Engineering.

Admission of postgraduate (PhD) courses in Applied Chemistry.

Dr. Jyh-Myng Zen, professor of Department of Applied Chemistry, was appointed to the Dean of College.

August 2006
Dr. Chuang Ay was released from the Dean of College.

June 2006
Establishment of postgraduate (PhD) courses in Applied Chemistry.

August 2004
Establishment of postgraduate (MSc) courses in Applied Mathematics.

August 2003
Establishment of postgraduate (MSc) courses in Applied Chemistry and Optoelectronics and Solid State Electronics.

August 2002
Establishment of postgraduate (MSc) course in Civil and Water Resources Engineering and undergraduate (BSc) course in Computer Science and Information Engineering.

August 2001
The postgraduate department of Science Education, Information Engineering and Mathematics Education were shed to the College of Education.

January 2001
Establishment of postgraduate courses (MSc) in Biomechatronic Engineering and Transportation and Logistics Engineering.

August 2000
Dr Chuang Ay, professor of Department of Biomechatronic Engineering, was appointed to the Dean of College.

February 2000
The University was officially established and hence the College.

January 2000
The College was formed in accordance with "The Articles of Organizations of National Chiayi University" approved by the Ministry of Education. The following departments were established at the first stage: postgraduate courses in Science Education, Computer and Information Engineering and Mathematics Education; undergraduate courses in Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Biomechatronic Engineering, and Civil and Water Resources Engineering.
