Summer Horizons Laboratory Training in Veterinary Sciences at Mahidol University

Summer Horizons Laboratory Training in Veterinary Sciences is a unique 5-day program designed for targeted students, veterinary undergraduates, graduates, and veterinarians who would like to brush up their laboratory skills; it offers a comprehensive exploration of various disciplines within veterinary medicine. We provide the perfect platform to deepen your knowledge and hone your practical skills. Besides learning academic and laboratory skills, attendees will also have the opportunity to be exposed to different cultures and environments of learning with our lecturers and professional veterinarians and experience Thai cultures and marvelous food during their stay in the country.

 Explore Your Interests: Choose from a variety of 5 exciting courses, each will take 5 days, including:
·       Molecular diagnosis – practice biosafety, animal handling, and sample collection. Lab skills for DNA and RNA extraction, relevant PCR procedures and more.
·       Protozoology – get to know about Toxoplasma gondii and Neospora caniunum before practicing the lab skill of Serological dectection.
·       Helminthology – delve into the topic of zoonotic livestock and blood parasites examination and experience a practical field trip for sample collection in the provincial area of Thailand.
·       Entomology – gain knowledge about the Arthropod vector of veterinary importance & vector surveillance and engage in field trips for sample collection at Kanchanaburi province, a place with wonderful nature and history.
·       Bacteriology – learn about the general and diagnostic process in veterinary bacteriology and practice the laboratory skills for identifying the bacteria.
·       Mycology – explore the fungi world and gain experience with sample collection at a local livestock farm before learning different skills in the laboratory.
