Curriculum Planning

Bachelor
Undergraduate students studying the program of the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) need to complete at least137credits. The B.Ed. Program consists of general education courses (30 credits), commoncurriculum courses (4 credits), foundational courses (37 credits), corecurriculum courses (18credits), specialty courses (33 credits) and optional courses (15 credits).

Master
The program includes three areas of major: 1) Educational Theories, 2)Curriculum and Instruction, and 3) Innovative Education and Potential Development. A minimum of 30 credits is required, which comprise 3 credits of foundational-education courses, 5 credits of educationalresearch methods and instruments, 2 credits of required courses and 15 credits of elective courses in a specific area of concentration. There are also 5 credits to be taken with degree programs outside the department.A master’s thesis is also required.

Doctoral
There are eight research areas of the EdD program: 1) Educational Theories, 2) Curriculum and Instruction, 3) Early Childhood Education, 4)Science Education, 5) Science 6) Special Education, 7) Physical Education, Health & Recreation, and 8) Educational Administration and Entrepreneurship. A minimum of 30 credits is required, which comprise 4 credits of independent study, 3 credits of foundational-education courses,4 credits of educational-research methods and instruments and 12 credits of elective courses in a specific area of concentration. There are also 7 credits to be taken with degree programs outside the department. A doctoral dissertation is also required.
