Language is a key to the world. In order to create a comprehensive
English learning environment for students, the Language Center of National
Chiayi University has established two new facilities in the Language Center of
the Comprehensive Teaching Building in Lantan Campus: "Immersive English
Learning Classroom" (A32-020) and "English Writing Lab and
Independent Study" (A32-019). The purpose is to provide students with more
opportunities to improve their language skills and enhance their international
competitiveness. The two facilities were officially opened on November 14,
2023, by Vice President Chang Chun-hsien and Language Center Director Tsai
Ya-chin, among other faculty members.
Vice President Chang said that National Chiayi University is
committed to providing students with a solid foundation to face the challenges
of globalization. With the support of the Ministry of Education, the university
has invested NT$3.6 million to build the "Immersive English Learning
Classroom" and the " English Writing Lab and Independent Study."
The university hopes that these new facilities will help students improve their
language skills in a new and innovative learning environment. After graduation,
students will be able to combine their expertise with their language skills and
make a name for themselves in the global arena.
Language Center Director Tsai said that the "Immersive English
Learning Classroom" uses advanced multimedia touch-interactive technology
and the Language Center's professional faculty to help students gradually
improve their English skills in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The "English
Writing Lab and Independent Study" provides students with individual
English writing guidance and resources, including English academic paper
abstracts, academic presentations, study plans, résumés, and English
standardized ability tests. These resources will help students become more
confident in facing academic and professional challenges. The self-study space
provides students with a variety of English learning resources, so they can
learn English at their own pace and practice their skills. The center
encourages everyone to make an appointment to use the facilities and improve
their English skills together.
