National Chiayi University Collaborates with Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau and Academia-Industry Consortium to Host Industrial Development and Talent Recruitment Event, Strengthening Semiconductor Cluster Talent Cultivation in Chiayi

The Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering at National Chiayi University held the "Southern Taiwan Science Park Chiayi Park Industrial Development Status and Marketech International Corp. (MIC) Talent Recruitment" event on May 20th, inviting executives from the Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau, Academia-Industry Consortium for Southern Taiwan Science Park, and Marketech International Corp. (MIC) as speakers, attracting over 60 students from the College of Science and Engineering's semiconductor program.

The event was hosted by Professor Yung-Ching Chao, convener of the College of Science and Engineering's semiconductor program, aimed at facilitating early industry-academia integration for students and supporting the development of semiconductor industry clusters and talent cultivation needs in the Chiayi Park of Tainan Science Park.

As an important high-tech industrial base in southern Taiwan, Tainan Science Park brings together internationally renowned companies such as TSMC, UMC, Chi Mei Electronics, and MIC, primarily covering semiconductors, optoelectronics, biotechnology, and precision machinery. The Chiayi Park focuses on four major pillar industries: precision health, smart vehicles, smart agriculture, and other emerging technologies. With TSMC's advanced packaging facility as the core manufacturer, it assists local industries in adding value through software and hardware integration and conducts cross-domain integration with industrial parks within Chiayi to shape industrial clusters.

Through engaging presentations, speakers provided in-depth introductions to advanced semiconductor manufacturing technologies and future industry trends in the Southern Taiwan Science Park, sharing detailed information about the current industrial development status of both the Southern Taiwan Science Park and Chiayi Park, future technological development directions, and Marketech International Corp. (MIC)'s talent requirements and career development opportunities. The event featured lively interactions, with students listening attentively and actively asking questions, while speakers provided detailed responses to inquiries about career planning and industry requirements.

Professor Chao-Ming Lin, Chairman of the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, stated that this event not only deepened students' understanding of Southern Taiwan Science Park's industrial development but also provided clear guidance for future employment directions, successfully achieving the goal of industry-academia integration and helping to cultivate outstanding talent that meets industry needs.
