Curriculum

The department offers a four-year program leading to the degree of Bio-Agricultural Sciences. The students must complete a minimum of 128 credits. The department offers courses in microbiology, immunology and biotechnology. The core courses are as follows: biology & lab., general chemistry & lab., physics & lab., calculus, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry & lab., biochemistry & lab., microbiology & lab., physiology & lab., bioactive natural products & lab., bacteriology, virology, microbial genetics, microbial physiology, molecular biology & lab., cell biology & lab., immunology & lab., disease and immunity, pharmacology and instrumental analysis etc.

The department also offers a two-year program leading to the degree of Master of Life Science. The students must complete a minimum of 30 credits, including 18 credits of required courses and 12 credits of elective courses. The required coursework for the MS program comprises 12 credits of required courses and thesis (6 credits) preparation. The required courses include: Seminar (4 credits), Advanced Biochemistry (2 credits), Advanced Microbiology, and Electives courses include research methods for biotechnology, scale-up and purification of bio-products, advanced cell biology, advanced virology, advanced molecular diagnostics, molecular genetics of microorganisms, fermentation physiology and metabolism engineering, applied immunology, intracellular signal transduction, advanced microbial genomics, advanced enzymology, and advanced microbial ecology.

The students of Graduate Institute of Bioagricultural Science must complete a minimum of 30 credits, including obligatory professional courses 6 credits, Elective professional courses 18 credits, and Master thesis 6 credits. Others: At least 12 credits of elective professional courses of the institute. By integrating researches of different fields, we are going to establish a highly competitive bioagricultural program.
