Research Interests:

Our research emphasizes on theme of synthetic macromolecular in organic and inorganic chemistry. In particular, we are interested in the design and synthesis of telechelic macromolecules and oligomers that could undergo thermal curing reactions to afford new polymer materials with improved thermal 、 electrical and flammability properties; or they could be used as a block polymer precursor for new material developments. The research goal is aimed to meet the never-end requests of faster transportation speed 、 higher circuit density and lighter weight of electronic devices for next generation products. Currently, several new types of telechelic polymers have been successfully developed in our laboratory and the reactivity 、 polymerization behavior 、 structure/property relationship correlation and physical 、 chemical properties of the curing products are under investigations. It is anticipated that this research will provide valuable insight into the relationship between polymerization behavior and structure in thermosetting systems and would provide students with a broad training in synthesis and characterization techniques in organic, inorganic and polymer chemistry.
